y mending pile is getting larger and larger so I’ve been looking for inspiration to help me get in the mood to work on it. Here are some great links to creative mending from Sweetie Pie Press and Karen Barbé (click each picture for links). Sweetie Pie Press has some more practical mending tips for socks and sweaters that end up looking really great with all the hodge-podge stitching. Karen Barbé’s ideas are a little more calculated and artistic, adding another element to your clothes.
I’ve been eying those patches in the last picture for patching up the holes that are forming in our couch. We bought it for $80 on Craigslist, and it has kind of been one of those “you get what you pay for” deals. I’ll post more on the couch later because it will definitely be a project (one that I’m still debating whether or not I want to embark on, but it will be cheaper than buying a new couch in the long run).
“Make do and mend” was one of my New Year’s resolutions so plan on seeing more posts about this in the next few weeks and throughout the year.
